faceted foot, slanting base, crude epigraphic engraving around rim of
foot. In each facet tear-drop cartouches framed by filet enclose
simple floral design, small engraved designs on body of oil-well, no
separation between oil-well and wick-holder. Scroll design follows
contour on top of flat rim of oil-well, underside of wick-holder
rises at sharp angle, walls of wick-holder indented on both sides
between well and lotus-bud-shaped spout. From Ghazni.

Brief description: ”Extremely
rare” (P.S.). Square box-like oil-well on four short tapered
square legs. Flat top, rim around square opening decorated with
larger and smaller incised circles and dots, undersides of three
wick-holders with parallel sides curving up to squared-off spouts.
From Ghazni.

Condition: Lid
missing, one corner damaged, one foot bend inward, one wick-holder
slightly bent and dented, greenish patina

Brief description: Smooth
curved surfaces, of Indian influence (?). Rounded base on flat uneven
ring foot, flat upper surface. Lotus-bud-shaped lid with hole in
center flush with surface, small stylized heads protrude from either
corner of oil-well. Two curved wick-holders flare out to left and
right, with lotus-bus-shaped spouts pointing left and right. In
center of oil-well between the wick-holders, a small bird head and
beak protrude, with stylized body and wings incised on surface below.

arched and looking backwards, surface decorated with stamped coins

wall lamp stand. Carved back panel, with geometric designs and open
work, at base of back panel an inset wooden platform with two round
platforms with notched outer rims. Top platform is extendable to hold
small undecorated clay oil lamp. From Nuristan.

Brief description: Crudely
worked, round flat base, small oil-well with neck and large mouth,
raised serrated design around inner rim. Elongated wick-holder,
partially covered, squared off spout. Two handles with serrated upper
edges arch from rim of oil-well to opening of wick-holder, trace of
vertical spine down back of oil-well. From Kabul.

foot, slanting faceted base, with two incised geometric designs
alternating on facets of base, no separation between small oil-well
and wick-holder. Flat rim of oil-well with six concave lobes and
ornate outer rim. From Ghazni.
