Brief description: Small rebab, body profusely covered in carved floral relief, open-work decorated peg head, resonating chamber covered in skin, fingerboard inlaid with nacre and bone, round tuning pegs inlaid with nacre, ten pegs on right side of fingerboard, three on either side of peg head; strings of metal and nylon, wooden bridge, nylon frets.

Brief description: Rectangular raw wood panel, with two sections of star and fan motifs in high relief, hole at back for hanging. Made in a UNESCO-run carving training center in Lower Kunar valley. From Assadabad.

Brief description: Long fitted woman’s red cotton dress with square neck, pleated skirt and long sleeves with embroidered cuffs. Front panel a series of squares on black background in groups of four embroidered with pink, yellow, green and blue sworls framing tiny mirrors. Zipper at left side, buttons at shoulder.
