Distant view of the Koh-e Tan Mountains on the northern side of the Amu Dariya. This sketch was taken in the same area as ELD 088, but from further away from the southern bank of the river and looking more to the northwest. The tree in the right foreground almost hides the main ridge of the Koh-e Tan.Unlike the sketches ELD 001-107 this sketch was not photo-lithographed.

Unfinished watercolour sketch, showing four Bengal Lancers with their horses on the bank of an irrigation canal, together with a Turkoman rider in a colourful chapan on the left. In the central foreground the pencilled contours of an additional horse are visible. Most probably this sketch was taken on the border of the Oxus River, near Khamiab or Karkin. The scenery has some resemblance with the sketches ELD 096 and ELD 097 with the Koh-e Tan Mountains in the background.Unlike the sketches ELD 001-107 this sketch was not photo-lithographed.
