  • L. Golombek (1969): The Timurid Shrine at Gazur Gah, S. 28: “The Shrine of Gazur Gah is not only a memorial to the patron-saint of Herat. It is one of the richest graveyards in the East. Touching one another, stones of every size and colour mark the tombs of a varied populace, having in common but veneration for the saint and a desire to be buried near him. These are the tombs of princes and dervishes, officials of state and theologians, soldiers, poets, wealthy landowners and destitute beggars.”
  • B. Wannell; W. Amini (2013): Herat Elite Burials, S. 160–165:
Cenotaph below Takht-e Taimuri circa 906 HQ / 1500 AD.
    S. 160: “[…] The absence of colonnettes and the presence of a poly-lobed prayer niche and rectangular panel above the head with the proclamation of God’s absolute command in gracile knotted kufi relates this fine stone to the 1468 AD stone of Firuza Baigi […]; however, the arched box-grid at the foot-end and rather stiff carving of the entirely pea-flower arabesque sides relate it also to the 1572 AD stone at Abu Nasr Khabbaz […]; the rather high and squat proportions should also be taken into account in ascertaining the most probable date of carving.”
“Given the variety of styles possible at any one time in any one workshop, and given also the intense conservatism of stone-masons, it is not always easy to attribute a definite date to stones that have had their original texts and dates scraped off. An early 16th century date would be possible for this stone.”
