Das Negativ dieser Aufnahme fehlt. Es existieren zwei Abzüge, wovon einer auf die Titelseite des Albums geklebt ist. Das Bild zeigt den unteren Teil eines traditionellen pashtunischen ‘Ehrenmantels’ (khal’at): ein knielanger Mantel mit stilisierter floraler und geometrischer Baumwoll-Stickerei (‘Lebensrad-’ und ‘Lebensbaum-Motiv’) auf einem gestreiften Baumwoll-Gewebe. Ein reich besticktes Exemplar erhielt der damalige Finanz-Minister Dr. Mohammad Aman, als er um 1950 einen offiziellen Besuch in der Provinz Paktia machte. Im Sommer 1990 schenkte er in Kabul diesen Mantel Paul Bucherer, in Anerkennung seines Einsatzes für die Friedensfindung in Afghanistan.

The negative of this photograph is missing. There are only two prints, one of them glued on the front page of the album. The picture shows the lower part of a Pashtun ‘Coat of Honour’ (khal’at): full-length men's tunic with hand-stitched cotton embroidery in stylised floral and geometric designs (including the 'wheel of life’ and ‘tree of life’) on a striped cotton body. An even more elaborately embroidered coat was given in the 1950s to the then minister of finance, Dr. Mohammad Aman, on the occasion of his visit to Paktia. In summer 1990 the coat was handed down to Paul Bucherer in recognition of his efforts for peace in Afghanistan.
