K. Fischer (1961): Preliminary notes on some ancient remains at Qunduz, in: Afghanistan Revue 16/1, p. 19: “One of the few monuments standing to the present day and betraying a certain artistic interest is the Mosque of Abdul Mumin. The small building and a typical Islamic domed well are situated south of the Bala Hissar and to the present border of Qunduz city. The two minarets (fig. 22) are decorated with glazed tiles belonging to the Moghul arts and crafts.”

N. Dupree (1977): An historical guide to Afghanistan, p. 408: “Masjid-i-Momin, outside south wall of citadel. Tradition states that this simple mosque was built by the eunuch Momin who dared question his master as to what he might do with his blighted life. The Amir so admired the young man for his courage in asking such a question that he promised Momin all the money he could spend, for the rest of his life. Grateful, Momin built this mosque and the vaulted reservoir beside it. The glazed-tile decoration of the minarets is Moghul in style.”
