Blick aus einem Fenster der Wohnung v. Segnitz nach Osten auf die Strasse und den gegenüber liegenden Park des ‚Justiz-Palastes‘. Es handelt sich dabei um das ehemalige Gästehaus (mehman khana), das später als Sitz des Gouverneurs der Provinz Kabul verwendet wurde. ♦♦♦ View to the east from one of the windows of the apartment von Segnitz. The road became later the Salang Wat and in the park behind stands the former mehman khana, now the ‘Palace of Justice’, and later the seat of the governor of the Kabul Province.

Blick von der Strasse auf das mit reichen Stuckaturen verzierte Haus mit der Wohnung von Segnitz. Die Stuckaturen stammen vermutlich von österreichisch-ungarischen Handwerkern, die während des ersten Weltkrieges aus russischer Kriegsgefangenschaft nach Afghanistan geflüchtet waren. Das Haus befand sich zu jener Zeit im Besitz des Postministeriums. Vor dem Haus ein Dreibein mit Balkenwaage zum Abwägen des gelieferten Brennholzes und zahlreiche Afghanen in traditioneller Kleidung stehen um Dr. v. Segnitz. ♦♦♦ The house in which the Segnitz lived in a flat at the first floor. It is sumptuously decorated with stucco work, most probably executed by Austria-Hungarian craftsmen, living in Kabul after having escaped from Russian PoW camps during the Great War. The house belonged to the Ministry of Post. In front of the house stands a derrick with a balance to weight firewood by a group of Afghans surrounding Dr von Segnitz.
