Eine Gruppe von Männern, drei davon in Uniform, am südlichen Ufer des Kabul-Flusses stehend. Rechts bietet ein kishmish-Verkäufer Nüsse und Trockenfrüchte an; links sind zwei Pfeiler der pul-e artan-Brücke zu erkennen. Im Hintergrund liegen Gebäude des mashin khana. ♦♦♦ A group of Afghan men, three of them are soldiers in uniforms. They are standing on the southern bank of the Kabul River. On the right, a hawker offers kishmish (nuts and dried fruits). On the left and in the centre are two pillars of the pul-e artan Bridge visible. In the background stands a building of the mashin khana.

Eine sehr schöne Aufnahme des minar-e esteqlal, das zu Ehren des Sieges der Afghanen unter Mohammad Nader Khan am 27. Mai 1919 bei Thal, im 3. anglo-afghanischen Krieg, errichtet wurde. Im Hintergrund die bala hissar und verschneite Bergzüge. ♦♦♦ A good photograph of the minar-e esteqlal, the ‘column of liberty’, erected to remember the victory of the Afghans at Thal on May 27, 1919 in the 3rd Afghan War. In the background lies the bala hissar and snowy mountains.
