Brief description: Carved oblong chest on short legs, top in two sections with loop lock. Front made up of two square panels with shallow finely carved rosettes, leaf and scroll motifs, framed by narrow bands of rosettes. Back and side panels plain. Turned finials painted red.

Measurements: L. 81 cm W. 53 cm H. 71 cm

Condition: Good, used

Brief description: Rectangular Salor carpet, hooked guls on brown field. Wide intricate border.

Object: Lute (rebab)

Origin/Period: Afghanistan / 20th C.

Brief description: Large rebab, ornately carved open-work and inlaid peg head, profusely decorated neck and fingerboard, resonance box covered with hide. Round tuning pegs all set with small round inlay and tipped with tiny bone knob.

Brief description: Wooden stringed instrument with long neck and round resonance box covered in hide. Two-piece construction. Two flanges above resonance box on either side. Crude linear decorations.

Brief description: Long dagger with bone handle. Long leather sheath, outer surface decorated with punched holes in metal frame and small bands of silk embroidery in yellow, black, green, purple, pink and white.

Brief description: Ornate square metal hanging lamp, with overall open-work decoration, four panels depicting frontal female figures holding vines and riding winged and horned creatures. Top and bottom sections with tiers of human faces, animals and scroll motifs.
